Dashboard Baby

Alter the Ending - Dashboard Confessional

There are a few voices that I can just listen to all the time no matter what the funky lyrics the happen to be singing. Dashboard happens to be one of those voices. This is their newest cd and I am pretty sure it has surpassed Dusk and Summer for my favorite album of theirs. Stolen is still my all time favorite song but every single song on this cd I totally love. Example: I just bought the cd this afternoon and I have listened to it twice all the way through.

Another awesome feature of this cd is that it is the delux version. Normally I would be annoyed that I'm forced to spend and extra $3 on the cd but then I realized that it is delux because you have the regular 12 songs and then you have those same 12 songs in acoustic version. The acoustic version let's you listen even more to the beautiful voice of Chris Carrabba. All the songs sound somewhat the same but the lyrics are all completely different and really good.

A few of my fav songs off of this album are: Belle of the Boulevard, Even Now, The Motions, and my fav Until Morning.

About the HACKs

Dedication at its Finest
Heidi: As Abbey's younger sister, Kara's former neighbor/favorite student, and Cory's best friend, H is the glue that holds all the Hacks together. She is an eclectic mix of interests and passions, equally excited discussing "The Tudors," "Heroes" or "The Office"- think Lorelai Gilmore, but with a stronger bent towards scientific fields as a career and minus the largely unfortunate taste in men. Currently working towards becoming the second doctor amongst the Hacks, she will not let her doctoral coursework in engineering deter her from continuing to study all things pop culture.
Abbey: Ab is Heidi's awesome older sister who is all about the dramas. Any tv show drama, ask away, she'll know. But other than drama, reality shows are up there. Abbey's dream is to be on Wipeout, and share her $50k prize with us. She also watches a great deal of sports with her husband but it is usually with a book in hand, only occasionally glancing up. She has a small daughter and son who are amazingly cute and are the subjects of many fun stories- as well as some of Kara's favorite subjects to photograph. As a result she watches shows mostly at nap time and after the kids have gone to bed. She thanks Tivo every day for its amazing powers.
Cory: Cory is one of Heidi's best friends and the resident entertainment expert. Any question at all relating to actors, pop culture, movie trivia, anything, she can answer. She lives in Albuquerque and is going to start Nursing school and one day take care of you. Cory loves to make lists, list of her favorite things, movies to see, books to read, anything. She's the most organized person we've ever met. Cory loves the old school shows (think Dawson's Creek) and always tries to work a reference in. She is also the most up to date on all pop culture gossip (she works hard ;).
Kara: Kara, who holds a doctorate in history, is a professor at ASU where she teaches the most amazing history classes ever. She loves the comedies and is the resident expert. She is also known for working clips from "The Daily Show" or "The Colbert Report" into any class that she teaches. Abbey, Kara, and Heidi used to live in the same neighborhood in Albuquerque when they were small. All three of them would like to live there again too. Kara also has a small adorable daughter who distrusts Heidi a great deal (we haven't figured out why yet), steals Abbey's flip-flops and is learning fantastic climbing techniques from Abbey's daughter, as well as a new, equally adorable, baby girl who mostly sleeps but is still fantastically interesting. Kara is also a fantastic photographer and reads the camera owner's manual in her spare time.
Megan: Meg is Ab and Heidi's older sister and the HACK with the most expertise in all things SciFi (or SyFy if you're new age). Her love of science fiction began as far back as we can remember and the only one of us who even knew that there are about 500 Star Wars books. Her addition helps round us out even more! She lives in Albuquerque where she goes to school and works in her spare time. She loves movies almost as much as Heidi does and they have an unspoken competition of who can see the most. Meg's true love though are the books, any and all.
